Love this drawing. It's just kind of style I would like all of my drawings to have. Because i have no authority with my drawing they don't look like this. I just accept what's given to me. This, for me, has that classical English church drawing style. It is a beautiful church building. It's in Randwick. There are a lot of great older buildings in Randwick, but at the time I was trying to accumulate as many buildings in Waverley as I could.
I had a good friend, Jack Atkinson, he lived not far from this house. Because of lunches with Jack and his wife, I started to see the beauty of these houses. Jack already had a great love affair with everything Waverley.
Not a lot to this drawing, but it touches me because I vaguely remember the afternoon I sat in my car waiting near Craig's terrace house for him to come home, drawing this. i didn't have to wait long. As is quite often the case, by the time I've decided I'm looking at something worthwhile drawing, it's too late to start. If I'd had more time it wouldn't be as simple.

Another view of Jakk's bakery, as it was in Charing cross shopping centre
This is a part of a large collection of Charing Cross Waverley drawings
